Through my first grandson's eyes I have learned so much about life! I am learning that things are not always as they seem but many times are much simpler and pure in nature. When my grandson was born my journey was just beginning with my health, so he has never known a Nana who can walk with ease or run. He has always seen me with a cane, of which he loves to use by the way. It's great for getting toys out of tight places! We have had many great conversations about my disability that can range from very basic to thought provoking. There is something so precious about our conversations, and they will stay forever in my heart!
Grandson: "Nana, do you ever get tired of walking?"
Nana: "Sometimes I do, but I get to play and have fun with you so I am very happy about that."
Grandson: "Well Nana, on Star Wars they have to fix Darth Vader after he is burned. Maybe we can do that and get you new legs?"
Nana: "If it were only that easy my love, if it were only that easy!"
Through his beautiful eyes I can see: love, acceptance, and most of all......hope!
